2010

"Youthman" brought these home yesterday. Because I am a cheep mom and refuse to purchase $100 school picture packets...I scanned them into the computer instead. (honest, probably not, but then again, they shouldn't have sent them home for me to do that then should they!) Not a big fan of the "poesy pictures" but one of the BIGGEST of Him!!

Commun-i-WHAT?

WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO BE SOOO DIFFICULT FOR SOME PEOPLE????
REALLY...IT BOGGLES MY MIND!!!

and that's all I have to say about that!

A Few Good Men

Seldom in life do we just take what happens to us and let it be...at least I DON'T. I often find myself fighting for just the opposite. WHY?? WHY NOT? It would be so much easier if I would let things be, but I guess I'm not that type...the type to let thing's "BE". Guess you could say I'm more a "Fighter". Over my life I have been given great examples of men who have taught me well. Some have moved on from this life and now I am left with only their memory and their counsel to remember. Others I am still blessed with to be able to receive their guidance and wisdom. As a mother of boys...youthmen...I feel that this is especially comforting. Who my children will grow up to be, and what will become of them is greatly influenced by who they associate with. How fortunate I feel to be able to have these great men in the lives of my children. Their examples are priceless. Their love is unconditional. Their support is overwhelming. I love them. I treasure their wisdom. I love the women that stand beside them. I feel blessed to be a part of this beautiful family!...(all 18 of them... + or - a few nieces and nephews...)

Let's take a Minute...

Over the last several months I have learned quite a bit from a very "convincing" blog...however, at times I may seem to be somewhat "confused" it ultimately just makes me smile and realize that though we may be close in distance, we are now even closer...and for that I am grateful.

I am not one to LIST things (on this blog)...but have learned that by doing so you mentally take in things you may not normally remember. SO...that being said, I am going to take a minute and LIST some things that I have been feeling lately in hopes that one day, as I look back on this it will help ME out.

Here we go...(in NO particular order because that would just be TOO difficult and this is hard enough as it is...) MY TOP 25 LOVES...

  1. I LOVE being a mom...it's one of the things I feel I don't completely stink at
  2. I LOVE being Mike's wife even MORE...
  3. I LOVE having all BOYS even though I won't get rid of the baby girl's outfit we bought when we very first found out I was pregnant over 12 years ago...and NO ONE will ever use it.
  4. I LOVE the school year and HATE the summer...I am not good at #1 in the summer.
  5. I LOVE that I have 3 boys who have chosen to be baptized...
  6. I LOVE that I have 2 priesthood holders in my HOME...
  7. I LOVE family prayer.
  8. I LOVE that Owen is learning the Family Proclamation...
  9. I LOVE that Baker almost has the whole thing memorized.
  10. I LOVE my calling in Primary.
  11. I LOVE that I can call upon any member of OUR family and they will drop ANYTHING to help us out.
  12. I LOVE being a part of a LARGE family.
  13. I LOVE my 2 Grandmothers...
  14. I LOVE my 2 sets of PARENT'S...
  15. I LOVE my 12 Brother's and Sisters...
  16. I LOVE my 18 Nieces and Nephews...
  17. I LOVE my BEST Friends.
  18. I LOVE that I have been given a second chance at College...
  19. I LOVE that I have "special" help in my classes :D
  20. I LOVE that I can be the ONLY girl in my Family.
  21. I LOVE that the boys will pick out SHOES for me and there not half bad...
  22. I LOVE that Creighton holds open EVERY door that I may come in contact with...
  23. I LOVE that Owen asks me to "pat" him when he wants his back scratched...
  24. I LOVE that Ian HOLDS my hand...
  25. I LOVE that Baker LOVES being with ME still...

Say Cheese!

Ian and Mabes have something special...I'm not sure exactly WHAT it is, but it's been there ever since she was born. The LOVE each other...there is a special bond that the two of them share that I am slightly jealous of but at the same time adore watching and seeing how it grows. Yesterday, Ian was invited over to "play" because it is spring break and he doesn't have school...of course he went with excitement and Mabes needed to wear her glasses too.

They may be 3 years apart, she is DEFINITELY a girly girl and he is ALL BOY, but some how those two work it out and play PERFECTLY together...guess that's what BIG COUSINS are for!

On a COMPLETELY different topic...FYI...found the socks and the pencils...a BIG nada on anything else ...BUT...did get a NEW purse, wallet, drivers license, credit card, temple recommend, costco card, library card and just cuz I needed it a "Starbucks" gift card and a hot chocolate to boot!! YES...FOR MYSELF!

And the winner is...

To say life has been crazy would be an understatement! When I received these pictures from a dear friend today, stating that she attended the schools history fair and took some pictures for ME, I just sunk!! Could I forget any more???

So apparently Ian had a history fair today that I know he has been working on FOREVER and we'll thanks to good friends I was able to see his hard work.

What Can I Say

What a DAY!!! Ian was baptized Saturday and it was a very special day for not only him but for our entire family.

Grandma and Grandpa came to be there for this important day. Grandma was the chorister and led the music for both the stake and ward part of the baptism. And then to top off all excitement...Ian got the set of scriptures he has been WAITING an entire year for!! THANKS grandma and grandpa!!

Nonie and Granddad were also able to attend and Granddad gave a special talk on the Holy Ghost. If you happened to wonder why Ian looks so "shaming" in his suit in the pictures below, it's because Nonie and Granddad bought Ian this suit for his 8th birthday!!

Sunday, Baker was ordained to the office of a Deacon. It was a very spiritual day and one, as a Mother, I will never forget. Baker received a very special gift from Granddad and Noni. Tickets to attend all 3 Saturday sessions of General Conference, including his first Priesthood session, in Salt Lake with his Dad.

We are very blessed as a family to have so many family members live close by.

Nano, Aunt Shar, Aunt Ann, Aunt Emily, Aunt Allison, and cousins were among all those that attended these events...Lauren, Drew, Anthony, Ellie, Trevor, Mabel, Addy, Ethan and Brynn that took the time to attend our busy but special weekend and for that we are forever thankful!!

Last, but NEVER least, Ian's other half...Josh. Our dear, dear, friends, FAMILY rather. The Greer's came. As it was just as a crazy weekend for them also, as Julia was blessed on Sunday too, but as family does, they made time to attend our events as well and for that we LOVE them even more!!! Life would be so empty without friends!!

How Time Flies...

Today, he becomes a "Youthman" or that's what he says. Today my son turns 12. I can still vividly recall the day he was born. Two days after his due date. I was huge, uncomfortable, and full of excitement! He was perfect! He was everything we had hoped for and more. Not much has changed over the years. Named after two grandparents, one I never got to know and one that I will never forget, Baker Haze bears his name well. I have no doubt that both grandparents would be pleased with this "youthman" and the choices he has made this far in his life. He is a constant example to his 3 younger brothers, and his parents. He is our "YOUTHMAN" and we LOVE him. All 12 Years of him!!!!!

Happy Birthday Bakerman!!!

Come What May and LOVE it!!

Lately it seems like I have once again lost all control. Where did it go you ask...I have no earthly clue!!

A while back I was given 2 things that I Hold Near and Dear to me. They, at times, try to keep me sane and in my right mind which is not an easy task to do.

1st-was this, from the BEST doctor in the entire WORLD...he says that there is "NO HOPE" for me. In his language, that means he loves me and wishes I would get my act together so that I would not see him as much!!

2nd-I received this from a dear friend...perhaps she too is sick of me and my "issues" :D. But, isn't that what friends are for? I LOVE it. I read it every day and then I continue to ask myself, "how can I LOVE IT?"...still learning this one, but I love the message and one day I will have this conquered.

Last, but NEVER least...Michael...Oh how I LOVE him. Without him, I w
ould have crumbled a long time ago. He has taught me so much and continues to teach me. I have been so blessed over the past 15 years we have been together. He is my life, my all. He keeps me going when I would prefer to STOP. He is my one constant in a world that is ever changing. He can make me laugh when all I want to do is cry. He knows me better than I know myself, which scares me. He is my best friend and my eternal companion...how sweet it is!!!
