Perfect Day for a Picnic

Owen said to me today, "It's a perfect day for a picnic" and it was. So off we went to the park with our lunches and some friends to have ourselves a picnic and a play day.

How I love this sweet boy. He is growing up so fast before my eyes, it seemed not long ago it was just Baker that I was swinging in the swings and now it is Owen that can practically do it all himself.

How the years have flown by. 4 boys, 11 years and the many moments like these that make them all worth it!!!

Field Day...5th Place goes to...

Today was Baker's field day. I knew he was wanting to participate in the 100 meter dash and had been talking about it all week long, what I didn't know was that he was planning on participating in the high jump also.

Baker took 5th place in both the 100 meter dash and the high jump out of all the 5th and 6th grades.
Had I known it was a competition and not just a "fun day" off of school I would have attended and got some pictures, but this is the best I can do...the after shots!

Enjoy our Champion

68 degress...yep! perfect day for a swim!

"It's hot outside, can we go swimming?".....

So, crazy as they might be, their mine and I love every goose bump on their freezing bodies!!!

YES! Creighton, who is the first every year, and Ian jumped in and SWAM in the pool yesterday.

Crazy, I know! What kind of mother lets her children swim in the beginning of March...I guess, I do. I have to say, I really didn't think once they put their feet in that they would go all the way in, but you know what they say, ...."give them an inch"...

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Creighton has been working over the last month on his history fair project, "Baton Rouge, LA". He has completed all of it himself at school with no outside help from home.
Wednesday Mike and I were able to attend his history fair and see all his hard work! Uncle Haze and Aunt Nat, Mabes and Ethan also came to support Creighton!! (Thanks guys!)

Creighton also had to write a 5 page essay, but I will spare you that! Enjoy.

Phoenix Coyotes Game Night

Ian was invited to a very special birthday party for one of his very best friends, Colton. His family took the boys to see the Coyotes game. Ian had a great time at his first every hockey game and made his 3 brothers very jealous!!

Not to worry, it was hat night and Ian and Colton, along with this family, surprised the boys with hats all around!! Thanks Pettits!!!

Go Baker... It's Your Birthday!

Happy 11th Birthday Bakerman!! Baker turned 11 on the 5th of March. He was surprised as he walked into his homeroom classroom at school to find that I had been there the night before to decorate this school desk with this poster board!!

I had brought cookies and little goodies for the class and put streamers around his desk. His teacher, who by the way is wonderful and also his primary teacher, sad that he was totally surprised and shocked! That is exactly what I was going for!!!

Baker had a 1/2 day that day, so Noni and Aunt Alli and I took him out to lunch and then I took him out to get a new pair of shoes (his birthday ritual!)

He also had a sleepover with Drew, a MUST, and got a new TV for is present from Mom and Dad) Over all I think he had a great day and super 11th birthday for a super kid, I mean, young man!!!

A Speical Date

I had a special Date out with Ian...every Wednesday it's "Date Day" with one of my boys. It happened to be Ian's turn on Wednesday. He was very excited!!! We went to Jack In the Box and got a chocolate shake and fries, what says "date" better than chocolate and fried food?

We got all caught up on school and Pokemon and had several laughs! I feel so blessed to have this young man in trusted to me. I love him so very much!
