"Summer Lovin' Having a Blast"

We finally did it and took the boys on a “real vacation”. That means (to the boys) a non-San Diego vacation. They have informed us that a “real vacation” consists of an airplane, and we have informed them, “No… it does not”! We took the boys on a Mexican Cruise despite the Swine Flu that has seemed to ruin many a plans, but we went and had a great time and no one got sick!!

The boys (minus O-ee) had a great time and I don’t believe that they really knew what we doing until we actually got on the ship. Mike and I have been on a few cruises before but never with the kids (quite a different experience as a family…we were in need of a vacation once we got back). They were super excited that we were taking them along and that they were getting their dreamed vacation.

We were fortunate to have my sister and brother-in-law come along to join the fun. The boys enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and well…EATING…I believe it has been the only time I have never said NO to food. They were in heaven.

"Schools out for the summer"...

At the end of the year the boys all have award ceremonies at their schools. Being just me, I was only able to attend one of the 3 and so since Ian was getting the highest award this year I attended his. He earned the ‘President’s Education Award’…presented to him in recognition of “Outstanding Academic Achievement”. This award is only given to 2 children per class per grade. It is an honor to receive and we are so pleased with Ian for excelling this school year!!

Not only did Ian receive an award but all our boys made the Honor Roll all 4 quarters and all 3 boys received the ‘National Physical Fitness Award’. They have worked hard this past school year to keep great grades, do well in sports and continue to push forward in scouting. We are extremely pleased and happy with the progress that they are all making!!!(Now…if it will only last!)

76 Trombones Lead the Marching Band...

Okay, so Baker doesn’t play the trombone, he plays the sax, but there are no song titles for the sax. Near the end of the school year Baker had his last band concert. All were afraid to attend, as we had to see the ENT after attending his one in November. But to are surprise, it was great. He, along with all the band members did a great job and no one let deaf which was a plus. Family came out to support him in the big event and for that we are always thankful.

A Boys Weekend...

It was that time of year...The Father and Sons weekend was this past Friday and Saturday and the boys were super excited to go. (All but one that is...the BIG ONE) Mike packed like they were leaving for a week. not 14 hours. Be that as it may, I do know that camping is not his favorite thing but he was a good sport and off they went.

I was told that as soon as they passed our church building, which is about, ummmm 3 minutes away from our house if you don't make the light, Mike was asked, "How much longer"...no joke. It was a long drive and the boys don't do drives well.

But they made it and everyone in one piece. They had a great time, despite Baker's "blood incident".

Saturday they were home by 10 am and the car was at the car wash by 11. We were swimming by 11:30. They had a great time and I know Mike is grateful he has another year before he has to do it again!!!

HOT, HOT, HOT!!!

The other day, while picking up the boys at the bus stop, Owen picked up the mints out of the glove box. I told him that they were hot mints and that he would not like them. I got out of the car to get the boys and when I got back into the car he was breathing hard into the air vents, with his mouth opened. Guess he didn't listen to me, AGAIN!! My guess is that he was attempting to cool down his mouth. All I could hear was, "Hot Hot Hot"!

Cabela's

A few weeks ago we were looking for something to do with the boys...we stumbled upon Cabela's Sporting Goods Store. The boys had a great time and found some interesting things there. Not sure we will make this a weekly stop, but we had fun and the boys enjoyed it. I on the other had was defiantly "a fish out of water"!!!

On your mark, get set, GO!!!!

It was the first day to be over 1oo degrees and Baker had a track meet. Yes, welcome to the AZ spring. Gotta love April in the desert. Monday Baker was part of a team of 4 that ran in their schools 4X100.

And...they came in first out of 4 schools.
