Lessons I've Learned

I find it interesting how individuals, members of the church or not, seem to get some sort of enjoyment from hurting others. Not by inflecting pain in the way of blood and torture, but by way of words and actions, and if you ask me (which it's my blog so I can say what I want) the latter is way worse!!

What happened to the ol', "Do unto others". I find that if you can embarrass, call out, make fun of, or talk behind one's back you are in the norm. How am I to teach my boys if all they see is the opposite of everything I am teaching by the adults that they know?

I find it very frustrating.

I found this great clip from General Conference from President Hinkley, he was by far one of my very FAVORITE prophets. He spoke so softly, but with such authority. (something this BRICK has yet to learn!) His love for the gospel and the Lord was so evident. When he spoke, it was as though he was speaking to me. I love this story he tells. I wounder why, we, as adults, could not just "give" instead of "take" from each other. We really would all be in such a nicer place. Really, we would!!!
